Ágora' se convierte en un fin de semana en la película española más taquillera de 2009

Si Amenábar aseguraba unos días antes del estreno de su última película, Ágora, que no había pegado ojo por los nervios ante la recepción de la cinta, ahora podrá dormir tranquilo. En sólo un fin de semana (largo, eso sí, con la fiesta del 12 de octubre) se ha convertido en la película española más taquillera de 2009.

Desde su estreno el viernes, la cinta ha recaudado 7 millones de euros, y más de un millón de espectadores han sido testigos de la lucha de la astrónoma Hipatia por salvar la sabiduría del Mundo Antiguo, durante las revueltas religiosas que asolaron Alejandría en el siglo IV.

La película, protagonizada por la actiz británica Rachel Weisz, se exhibe en 450 cines de toda España y puede también presumir de ser el largometraje español con mejor acogida en su primer fin de semana de exhibición de los últimos cuatro años.

Ágora, el quinto film de Alejandro Aménabar y el segundo que rueda en inglés después de Los otros es, además, y se trataría ahora de un récord en clave personal, la película de Amenábar con mejor acogida en el fin de semana de su llegada a las salas.
